HOHOHO. im here to blog about the most significant event that has ever happened in the 19th yr of my life... of coz it's none other than the Malang Mission Trip that i've went..

Malang Mission Trip (18th - 24th June 2007)

Day 1: Monday

our flight was at 3.35pm
phew. thank God for that coz i used the time in the morning to prepare my offering and faith sermons.
a few of my cg members came to send us off at the airport
i was really excited as i get to travel in an aeroplane again!
my heart was anxious but yet excited
our whole team (the 5 of us) didnt know what to expect
touched down at Surabaya international airport, we headed to a restaurant for dinner
we had a sumptious dinner and we thought that could be one of our last best meal before we step into the mission field
HAHA!
we travelled 2hrs from surabaya to malang
we shared our own personal testimonies along the way
upon reaching our "house" at around 10pm, we were greeted by Pastor Roy

set down at the dining room
Pastor gave us the schedule and ta-da!
our 7 days there was really packed with meetings!
5 people with 19 meetings!
i was thinking how am i gonna survived the next 7 days

i stayed up late that night to prepare my sermon coz im gonna preach at a cg meeting for the very first time the next day!

Day 2: Tuesday

we had our first breakfast meal there
we met our interpreters
i remembered yuli making tea for us!
and i ate something like a rice chicken pie..
set off to our first event at the radio station at 9.30am
my first time entering into a radio station

and we were told to share our personal testimony in mandarin!
HAHA!
so i took some photos at the radio station and kangwei was the video camera man

while wenhui was sharing,
all of us were busy preparing our testimonies!

translating them to chinese..
everything ended at 12pm
went for lunch at this very nice museum

then we went back home to prepare our sermons for the evening meeting
so kangwei and wenhui left earlier for their cgm
while del and angeline went with me
it was my FIRST time leading cg
i was really nervous!
their praise and worship was superb!
the presence of God was really strong

after that we went to Alfamart
bought lots of packets of chips + indomie
then we headed back home for dinner
we had many many meatballs + siew mai + meatball soup
but it was really delicious!

then we rested for awhile and we decided to open up some of the chips that we bought
so we sat at the dinning table talking about our cg chalet and other stuff

laughing loudly in the middle of the night!

Day 3: Wednesday

we had indomie for breakfast!
it was super delicious!
set off to Solagracia radio station in the morning
wenhui managed to preached finish 5 sermons!
breakthrough! coz many teams only preached max 4 sermons.
then went for lunch after that
we had very nice food over there!
then came back home
it was time to prepare sermon again before the meeting
i went to Youth Bethany CG
windra was my interpreter for that meeting
angeline, my malang partner
coz we went for ALL the meetings together!
i felt that my preaching was much better than the day before
windra brought angeline and i for dinner
we ate this very nice noodle

then we were the first to reached home
so we rested and waited for the rest to return home
when all of them came back,
we sat at the dinning room, talked and shared about our meetings and laughed again
and we decided to go out for some dessert
kw really made us laughed out loud!
and before we slept, we were camwhoring

Day 4: Thursday

woke up at ard 11 plus coz there wasnt any meetings in the morning
so we went out of the house to walk along the streets of malang

we bought Dunkin Donuts, some snacks, some hangers
came back home

rested and then it was time to prepare sermon again
this time i could relax a lil coz i wont be preaching as angeline and i will be going to Solagracia radio station for a talkshow
our topic was on "The Power of Confession"
while the rest- wh, kangwei and del were at another meeting at the village (which i heard it was the best meeting in the whole trip)

so yuli and ke ke brought angeline and i to Malang Townsquare for dinner
they ordered so much food for us!
and they still wanna bring us go eat fried rice with crab!
then i went to the hypermart to get something. I cant remember what is it.
if im not wrong, i think it's a bottle of sauce to bring back to Singapore
at night, we sat around the dinning table and fellowship
we sang, talked, laughed.
there were guitar plucking of the songs Tangan Kuat, Mengena-mu, give thanks as our background music.
we learnt the song "i sing praises" in Indonesian, and we were singing it the whole night!
i learnt how to play that song on the guitar!

Day 5: Friday

Woke up early at 7am coz angeline and i had a chilli making lesson with ke ke

the chilli that ke ke make is really nice!!
so i wanna learn how to make them when im back in Singapore

after which, wenhui followed ke ke to his shop
then we went to cook indomie ourselves
windra came over to fetch us to ke ke's shop
after that we visited Pastor Roy at his shop
we decided to cook dinner to appreciate our hosts
so we headed to the supermarket to buy the ingredients

at the same time, i also bought sauces for my chilli!
then we went back home for lunch
and ke ke specially came back home to prepare lunch for us!
after lunch we went to prepare the food for dinner as we all had meetings to go in the evening
so this time, angeline and i followed wenhui to service
while del went with kangwei to another one
i didnt preach but i shared offering message
and by the grace of God, it was a breakthrough offering!

it was 9 times more compared to the usual offering
and it was my FIRST time sharing offering message!
praise God!
angeline shared her personal testimony
wenhui preached a message on inner healing
then it was ministry,
during altar call, the people who responded came forward
kneeling down, crying out to God and wanting to experience more of Him
and it was my FIRST time praying for people who responded!
after that we headed back home for dinner as we've arranged
and again! we were the first to reach home!
so we went to cook the noodles and prepared the table for dinner
it was really a great time spent fellowshipping together with everyone there!
then after that, andry drove us out to "dou fong"
we went to a very nice hotel to chill out
we took some pics and fellowship till bout 1plus then we went home
del and kangwei forgot to bring the battery for the camera
so there there isnt any pictures of the meetings that we went...

Day 6: Saturday

woke up at around 10 plus
ke ke prepared lunch for us
we had soto ayam for lunch
had a discussion and debrief about the previous day meeting
then andry came and fetched us to MATOS(Malang timesquare) to watch a movie
we watched Fantastic Four
then we went to take neoprint!
their neoprint there is cheap and nice with good quality
then we walked around and then headed back home to prepare sermon
this time, we played around with the stage that's in the house
we act as if we were really having praise and worship
we almost brought the whole house down!
HAHA!
but actually, we were really practising some of the songs
so this time, again! angeline and i went to the same meeting!
the meeting was fantastic!
we prayed for the people who were sick and some were healed instantly!
one thing that touched me the most was to see that the people were waiting patiently for their turn to get prayed for..
19 people stayed back to get prayed for!
their hearts are really so pure and true and they are not young people..
they are like senoir citizens at the age of 60 and above
after the meeting, we went back home to meet the rest
we had an appreciation dinner with pst roy at a very nice restaurant!
the food was delicious! we had fried rice, fish, salad prawn, calamari, crab, kang kong, etc
and the avacado drink that i had was nice too!
we took a group photo outside the restaurant and then we headed back home!
there's still more when we reached home
pst roy presented us gifts of appreciation
and we also presented our cards to appreciate them.
and all our hosts/interpreters shared about us.
its was our (only del and i) last night there.
as we got to be back in Singapore by Sunday
while wh kw and angeline get to stay there for another day
thank God we video-ed down everything!

Day 7: Sunday

woke up at 5 plus
coz our flight was at 1005hr
so we got to leave Cipto (that's the name of the road of our house) at 6.15am
as it takes us 2hrs to travel to Surabaya airport
we've got this yi yi bu she feeling
pst roy, windra and andry came to Cipto to send us off
del and i were so quiet in the car!
too some pics along the road. slept in the car
we bought more Dunkin Donuts at the airport
and something happened when we reached the airport!
almost couldnt make it back in Singapore
we didnt have enough money to pay the airport tax there
thank God for good people to lend us money and we paid them back when we reached Singapore
my small pink scissors got confiscated at the airport at Surabaya
that's my one and only precious small scissors.
then touched down at Singapore
margt, baojuan, angeline, lena, joan, joel and my parents were there to pick us up
so we shared with them our Dunkin Donuts
then came back home
it seems like my soul is still in Malang that kind of feeling
didnt really sleep. del and i were talking about the trip
amanda came to my house, so we let her see the photos and introduce to her our favourite song- Tangan Kuat.
then shared with sharon for about 2hrs what we've done there.

this trip really brought me up to another level
i was stretched, my capacity was enlarge, great friendships were forged
there were so many FIRST times i had in this trip!
i was still wondering if im able to survive the 7 days of the trip
again, with God all things are possible!

the group that hosted us were just so powerful!
at first when i met them, i thought they were full time church stuff in their twenties
but as i got to know them, i was so super wrong!

one opened a supermarket,
one run a shop selling fashion wear,
one manages his dad's coffee bean manufacturing factory,
the other was a top selling author.

look! they are all businessman and businesswoman who needs to work like everyone else
but they drove us around everyday, from one place to another
they would drive us out in the middle of the night, bring us out to eat desserts at 1-2am.
they would go to the market early in the morning, just to prepare breakfast and lunch for us
and come back home in the afternoon just to cook lunch for us
they would drive us out for meals and fill our stomach with good food
making sure that all of us are well fed and well taken care of
and they would not allow us to pay for any meals or anything
and say: pls let me bless you.
pst even apologised if they had caused any inconvenience during in the trip, i think it's more likely the other way round

they are businessmen/businesswoman who owned big businesses but yet they are really very humble.
ultimately, God is the one who brought us through!
with 19 meetings for 5 people in one week
preaching, giving altar calls, laying hands and praying for people
never ever have i thought im able to do it
but God showed me that He always use ordinary people to do extraordinary things
things that are beyond our wildest imagination.

im really thankful for my team.
esp the team leader- wenhui, and the rest- kangwei, del and angeline
this trip wouldnt be made possible if you guys are not around
all the encouragement and support really help me to go through the 7 days of this mission trip

the thing that impacted me the most during this trip is to see the people in Indonesia wanting more of God.
God is no.1 thing in their lives.
the way they praise and worship God, really show me what praising and worshipping God with all our hearts mean.
their hunger and attitude is really fabulous!

i want to go for missions again!
